The Ultimate eSports Ecosystem
This page is dedicated to explaining what our application offers for the entire esports community. Whether you are a professional gamer, an amateur player, a competitive enthusiast, an event organiser, a team owner, a manager, a charity, or a community leader, this platform provides the tools and infrastructure to elevate your competitive journey. Discover how to build your reputation, prove your skill, create world-class events, and manage a successful organisation.
Competitive Integrity & Compliance
NUGS Esports is founded on the principle of fair competition. To operate as a premier platform for skill-based gaming, we have implemented a multi-faceted system to ensure that every match is decided by player skill, not by chance. Our compliance framework is built on three core pillars, which are strictly enforced, especially for events with cash prizes.
Fair Matchmaking (Elo System)
Our platform uses a sophisticated Elo-based rating system to calculate a Skill Score for every player and team. This system ensures that you are matched against opponents of similar skill levels, creating more engaging and competitive matches. Your score adjusts after every competitive match, providing a dynamic and accurate reflection of your current ability.
Community Trust (Reputation)
Beyond skill, we value reliability and sportsmanship. Your Reputation is a measure of your standing within the community. This rating is affected by your match attendance, adherence to rules, and feedback from other players. A high Reputation demonstrates that you are a dependable competitor, making you more attractive to potential teammates and tournament organisers.
Game & Mode Whitelisting
For any event that requires an entry fee, our platform requires the use of an officially whitelisted game and game mode. These modes have pre-configured, locked-in settings that remove variables of chance (e.g., random item drops, luck-based maps), ensuring a level and predictable playing field for all competitors.
Zero-Tolerance Anti-Cheat
Cheating in any form, including the use of unauthorised third-party software, bug exploitation, or match-fixing, is strictly forbidden. We operate on a zero-tolerance policy. Verified cheating will result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of all funds, and a permanent ban from the platform. Use the report function on player profiles to flag suspicious activity.
Reputation: Build Your Trust
Your Reputation is a percentage score based on community feedback. A high percentage indicates a positive community standing.
To maintain a healthy and competitive environment, we take community feedback and reporting seriously. Actions such as spamming reports, making false accusations, or demonstrating consistent toxic behaviour will be investigated by our moderation team. Confirmed abuse of the report system or violations of our code of conduct will result in significant penalties to your reputation, as outlined above.
Skill Score: Prove Your Prowess
Your Skill Score is a direct reflection of your competitive performance. It adjusts after every match based on the outcome and the skill level of your opponent.
Elo-Based Rating System
Our platform uses a sophisticated Elo-based rating system to calculate your Skill Score. Every player begins with a Skill Score of 1200, which serves as a neutral, average starting point. From there, your score will increase when you win matches and decrease when you lose. The number of points gained or lost depends on the skill difference between you and your opponent, ensuring that every match is a meaningful test of skill.
Expected Outcome
A higher-skilled player defeats a lower-skilled one.
Upset Victory
A lower-skilled player defeats a higher-skilled one.
Team-Based Scoring
For team matches, the system calculates an average Skill Score for your entire roster and pits it against the opposing team's average. The resulting Elo point adjustment is then applied equally to every player on the winning and losing teams, rewarding the collective team effort.
Scoring in Race Leagues
Race leagues use a two-part scoring system to reward both individual race performance and overall championship consistency.
- League Points: After each race, you earn points for the league table based on your finishing position (e.g., 25 for 1st, 18 for 2nd). These points are used *only* to determine your final standing in that specific event's championship.
- Skill Score (Elo): Separately, your global Skill Score is adjusted after *every single race*. The Elo calculation compares your rating against the average skill of all other drivers in that race, rewarding you more for high placements against a strong field.
vs. Cross-Platform Play
To ensure fairness in cross-play matchups, our Elo system applies a handicap to account for the advantages of different input devices. In a PC vs. Console scenario, the PC player(s) are treated as if their Skill Score is higher for the calculation, ensuring that the final Elo adjustment accurately reflects a fair, competitive outcome regardless of hardware.
Tournament Placement Bonuses
In addition to match-by-match adjustments, you can earn significant Skill Score bonuses by placing high in score-based events. Event organisers set a total 'Skill Score Reward' for their tournament, which is then distributed to the top players based on the event's prize distribution percentages. This allows for customised and meaningful rewards for every competition.
